Tool resource groups

Open: Manufacturing System Manager > Tool Register > Records > Tool Resource Groups.

1. To add a tool resource group, click Add.
• Enter a Reference for the tool resource group.

To edit a tool resource group, select the Group Reference and click Edit.

2. Enter or amend the following details:

Description	The process description. For example, this could be cutting, drilling, assembly or inspection.
Cost Heading	This defaults to the Tooling cost heading. Select another cost heading if required. Note: You cannot select a cost heading that has type Materials.
Nominal Code	This defaults to the Nominal Account on the cost heading. Select another Nominal Code if required. Note: Important! If you are using the full Manufacturing product, this code must be the same as that on the cost heading.
Overhead Nominal Code	This defaults to the Overhead Nominal Account on the cost heading. Select another Overhead Nominal Code if required. Note: Important! If you are using the full Manufacturing product, this code must be the same as that on the cost heading.
Cost Rate	Enter a cost rate. This is used by default when adding the tool resource to operationsThe labour, machine and tool processes required to manufacture an item. for BOMA stock assembly and process costing system, which provides facilities to specify the structure of finished items in terms of sub-assemblies and components.s or estimatesForecast project costs, based on expected costs of labour, machinery and operation times. In Manufacturing, estimates are produced for one-off items or non-repetitive batches.. Note: This is a per quantity value.
Allow Cost Rate Override	Select Allow Cost Rate Override to allow cost rate override by default for resources in the group. Note: You cannot change the cost rate on group resources if the group is added to an operation or BOM operation record in the Operations Register.
Quantity	Enter the quantity to calculate the cost rate. This is used as the default for tool resource records in the group.
Overhead Recovery %	The default value shown, when you add the tool resource group, is set in Cost Headings Settings. You can amend it here. Note: Important! If you are using the full Manufacturing product, this value must be the same as that on the cost heading.
Efficiency %	Enter a percentage value. This allows you to over or under inflate the efficiency of the tool resource for costing purposes.

3. Add the tool resource group time units that are used as defaults for the resources in the group

   1. Select the Time Units tab.

   The default time unit, Hour, is shown.

   2. To add time units, click Add and select the time unit Name from the drop-down list.

   Note: Time units must have been set up in the Time Units settings.

   3. To delete time units, select the time unit Name and click Delete.

   Note: The time unit, Hour, cannot be deleted.

4. To save your changes, click OK.

If you are using all Manufacturing modules, have selected Perform Compatibility Checks in the Environment tab in System Settings and have compatibility issues, the Compatibility Warnings prompt appears.

Open: Manufacturing System Manager > Tool Register > Records > Tool Resource Groups.

1. Select the tool resource Group Reference.

Note: You cannot delete a tool resource group if there are tool resources being used that belong to the group.

2. Click Delete.
3. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.
