Note: The View Tool Resource option allows you to see the entries for the tool resource records but not amend them.
Tool resource information is held on five tabs: Details, Notes, Activities, Attachments and Time Units.
You do not usually need to add activities when you add tool resources. Activities - calibration, service or repair - are added when the tool has been in use. However, if you are adding tool resources retrospectively, you can add and delete activities following the same procedure as when you amend tool resources.
Important! If you are using the full Manufacturing product, some information that you enter for the machine resource must be the same as the information you entered for the Cost Headings.
In order to be compatible for use with all Manufacturing modules, you must make sure:
Note: If you select Perform Compatibility Checks on the Environment tab in System Settings and you choose differently, you will receive a warning prompt when you save a tool resource.
Open: Manufacturing System Manager > Tool Register > Records > New Tool Resource.
Open: Manufacturing System Manager > Tool Register > Records > Amend Tool Resource.
To add an activity, click Add or click in a new line in the Activity Type column.
Enter the following details for the activity:

The type can be:
|
This Activity Date |
The date on which you want the activity to take place. |
Reference |
A reference for the activity, e.g. the name or ID of the operator who performed the activity. |
Result |
A result for the activity. For example, Successfully calibrated, or Permanent repair. Note: You cannot sort on the Resultcolumn. |
Notes |
Notes describing the activity. For example, any additional tasks needed to be done to achieve a successful calibration. Note: You cannot sort on the Notes column. |
Next Activity Date |
A date calculated automatically for calibration and service activities from the Calibration Interval and Service Interval entries on the Details tab. |
Use the Attachments tab to link files to tool resources.
To add a file to the account or record:
Select the file(s) that you want to add.
A copy of the file will be displayed in the list, and will be marked with a status of New. The file will only be added to the account/record when you save it.
If you are using Sage 200 Online, the file will be tested by antivirus software before it is attached.
Provided the original file extension is not greater than 150 characters, you will see the file in the file list with one of the following three extensions:
Extension | What it means |
---|---|
.[the original extension] |
The file has been tested by antivirus software and no problem has been found. Therefore the file has been saved in the cloud. |
.quarantine |
The file has been placed in quarantine and is waiting to be tested by antivirus software. |
.blocked |
The file has been tested by antivirus software and found to be potentially unsafe. Therefore the file has been deleted from the cloud and a dummy file with the .blocked extension is listed so you can see that there is a problem with the file. |
Tip: You can also use drag-and-drop to add files to the attachments list.
To add a link to a file:

To add a link to a folder:
Select the folder(s) that you want to add a link to.
A link to the folder will be displayed in the list, and will be marked with a status of New. The link will only be added to the account/record when you save it.

To view the file, link or folder from the account record:
To save a copy of the file, click Save As.

To delete a file, link or folder:
The item will be marked with a status of Deleted.
Tip: If you do not want to delete an item, select it and click Undelete.
You will be asked to confirm that you want to delete the item when you save the account/record.
