Absences and holidays are created as a type of state (e.g. Holiday, or Short Break) and then applied to a resource calendar.
For example, you may need to change a shift pattern because of planned maintenance, a holiday, or a training course that affects a particular resource.
Open: Workspace > General > Generate Schedule >View > Calendars > Primary Resources or Secondary Resources.
Double-click on a resource record.
The Resource Calendar window appears.
Double-click on a date in the calendar.
The Calendar Period window appears.
Enter a Start Time and End Time for the exception.
By default, Start Time will be 8:00 am.
If you are editing a default period, you can set these times to No Limit.
Set the appropriate Reference Date.
Note: Calendar states are listed in the Template drop-down list in addition to calendar templates. If you select a calendar state instead of a calendar template, you cannot enter a Reference Date.
The Reference Date is the date in the template in which to start the cycle. For example, if you have a five day template (Monday to Friday) and you want to use this template, but are already half way through the week, set the Reference Date to reflect this. The period will cycle as if it had been running since Monday.
Use Template Reference Date |
This uses the reference date, set in the template, as the default for the default period. |
Use Start Time as Reference Date |
This uses the current start time as the reference date. This is the default for exceptions. |
Use Custom Reference Date |
This allows you to specify a reference date which the exception will use. |
Select Apply Changes to Resources.
Select those resources you want to apply the changes to.
Note: To select all resources in the list, right-click and choose Select All.
Click OK.
The exception appears as a blue bar on the resource calendar.
Open: Workspace > General > Generate Schedule >View > Calendars > Primary Resources or Secondary Resources.
Double-click on a resource record.
The Resource Calendar window appears.
