Use the Graphical Planner tab to record the settings that identify how Manufacturing integrates with Graphical Planner.
Note: We recommend you consult with your Business Partner before changing these settings.
Open: Planning > Utilities > System Set Up > Planning Settings | Graphical Planner.
Enter the following settings:
In the Primary Resource box, select whether labour or machines are to be the primary resource in Graphical Planner.
In the Path to Program box, enter the path to the Graphical Planner executable file (exe). This should include the path and file name. By default the Graphical Planner program folder is in your program files folder, e.g. c:\program files. If you installed Graphical Planner in a different folder, you will need to change the path displayed.
In the Configuration box, enter the path to the Graphical Planner configuration file (*.prcdf). This should include the path and file name. If you have a single standalone user licence for Graphical Planner, this could be Public Documents\Preactor Configurations\Graphical Planner. However, if you have a concurrent user licence (even the standard single concurrent user licence), enter a network share path for this. Then the configuration file will be accessible by multiple client computers.
Note: The Path to Program and Configuration settings only apply to the computer that the instance of Graphical Planner is installed on. You should enter these settings on each machine that Graphical Planner is installed on. This is because Graphical Planner may be installed on different locations on different machines.
Select the check boxes for items to export to Graphical Planner.
Note: None of the options in the right column are not utilised by the version of Graphical Planner supplied with Sage 200 Manufacturing; i.e. Works Order/Bill of Material Components, Purchase Order Recommendations, Sales Forecasts, Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, Stock Quantities.
Select this check box to pass dates to and from Works Orders and Graphical Planner.
With the check box selected, any existing works orders are automatically displayed on the Sequencer with individual operations locked. Changes to start and end dates may be made manually and revised dates will be sent back to works order processing.
Note: You can exclude individual works orders from this process by selecting the Exclude from Graphical Planner check box in the Works Orders Details window.
With the check box cleared, any existing works orders are displayed as unallocated and processed along with any MRP recommendations. Revised dates will be sent back to works order processing.
Select this check box to pass dates to and from MRP and Graphical Planner.
When you run MRP, Manufacturing calculates start and end dates on a backwards scheduling basis. This calculation does not take resource availability into account.
With this check box selected, the start and end dates are sent to Graphical Planner and the jobs are automatically allocated by the Sequencer.
