Markup pricing

Use this option to price items by adding a percentage increase to an item's buying price. The percentage is set at product group level and applies to the items in the product group.

Note: You can use markup or a set price, but not both. Also you cannot discount goods that you price, using mark-up.

To use mark-up pricing

Open: Price Book > Selling Prices > Markup Pricing.

  1. Select the Use Markup check box for the product group that you want to use markup pricing.

Note: If the product group has associated discount, the discount structures and linked items are removed.

  2. Enter the mark-up percentage value. The value must be greater than or equal to zero, expressed to two decimal places. The default is 0.00.
  3. To stop using markup pricing for a product group, clear the Use Markup check box.
  4. Note: You must set up fixed selling prices for the price band instead.

  5. Click OK.
