Costing (BOM record)

You can calculate BOM costs, view historic costs and delete historic costs from the Costing tab.

Note: The BOM must be saved before it can be costed. If you are using all Manufacturing modules, you have selected Perform Compatibility Checks in Manufacturing System Manager system settings Environment tab and you have compatibility issues, the Compatibility Warnings prompt appears when you click Save.

Open: Bill of Materials > Records > New Bill of Materials | Costing.

  1. Click Cost Now to calculate BOM costs and add a new cost to the list of historic costs displayed.
  2. If there is an active subcontract operation with more than one supplier that can be used, you are prompted to choose the subcontract supplier to use in the Choose Subcontract Supplier window.
  3. If Prompt when stock level is zero or Prompt when stock item has zero costs is selected in the BOM Settings Costing tab, you are prompted to enter costs for the components listed in the Enter Component Costs window.
  4. Select Show Costings where used as a Sub-Assembly to list costings that resulted from the costing of a higher level BOM. This is selected by default.
  5. Select Show All Versions to display costings of all versions of the BOM in the list of costings.
  6. To view cost breakdown for an item, select an item in the list of historic items and click View Cost Breakdown.
  7. To view a graphical breakdown of the costing analysis, click Analysis.
  8. Note: There must be at least two costing records for you to view cost analysis.

  9. To view a graphical breakdown of the planned and actuals costs, click Actuals Comparison.
  10. Note: There must be at least two BOM planned costing records for you to view actuals comparison.

  11. To delete items in the list of historic items, click Delete History Before.
  12. To continue entering BOM information, click the Analysis Codes tab.
