You can place BOMs on hold and release them from hold. If they are on hold they cannot be used.
If you use version control, you have more control over the changes made to a BOMA stock assembly and process costing system, which provides facilities to specify the structure of finished items in terms of sub-assemblies and components. and which revision of the BOM is used.
To use version control, you must select Use version control when creating or editing BOMs on the General tab in Bill of Material Settings.
You can use several different revisions of a BOM in the system at once. For example, you can create many new revisions, without having to delete the current active revision.
When you create a BOM, the system checks out the BOM to you. No one else can make changes to it until you check it in. This prevents other users making changes to the BOM whilst you are making changes to it. You can change BOM statuses using this window, but you cannot check a BOM out. You can only check out a BOM when you add a BOM or edit a BOM.
Open: Bill of Materials > Records > Change Status.
If you are using version control and you want to show retired BOMs, select Show retired BOMs.
Note: This increases the list of BOMs on display.
This lets you check in BOM records that are checked out to you.
