Adding components while allocating or building BOMs

If you selected Allow component changes on the Allocation or Build tab in the BOM Settings, you can add components for allocation or when you record built items that are not currently associated with the specified BOMs.

To add components

Open: Bill of Materials > Processing > New Allocation or Bill of Materials > Processing > Record Built Items.

  1. Click Add in the Components list.
  2. The Add Component window appears.

  3. Click Add.
  4. Select a new stock item from the Stock Code drop-down list.
  5. Click Add.
  6. The Stock Name and Unit of Measure is displayed automatically.

  7. Select the Parent BOM for the component from the BOMs that were listed on the Allocateor Record Built Items window.
  8. Enter the Quantity of the stock item that you want to add.
  9. Note: The quantity must be valid for the unit of measure. If not, the quantity value entered is rounded to the nearest valid quantity.

  10. To delete a component in the list, select the component and click Delete.
  11. When you have finished adding components, click OK.
  12. The new components are added to the list in the Allocate or Record Built Items window.
