Enter the Sales Ledger settings
Use Ledger Settings to enter or change your Sales Ledger settings.
The View Ledger Settings option allows you to see the settings entered for the Sales Ledger. You cannot enter or change the settings from here.
Some settings should not be changed once you have entered data into the Sales Ledger.
Effects of changing the settings after entering data into the Sales Ledger
- Changes will only apply to new data created from that point forwards.
- Changing foreign currency settings will have a considerable effect on postings to the Nominal Ledger.
- Changing Automatic generation of customer numbers on the Sales Ledger settings Options tab will have an adverse effect on how the ledger searches for and locates your existing account records. We recommend that you do not change this option in the future.
To enter or view the Sales Ledger settings
Open: Sales Ledger > Utilities > Ledger Set Up > Ledger Settings.
Open: Sales Ledger > Utilities > Ledger Set Up > View Ledger Settings
- Select the relevant options from each tab:
- Options.
- Customer Defaults.
- Ageing.
- Processing.
Note: You must also set up your Trading periods. These are set up, using a separate window from the other sales ledger settings. However, they can be viewed in the same window on a separate tab.
