Use the Search Categories tab to select the search categories you want to use for the items in this group.
You can use search categories to search for stock items without the need to know stock item codes.
If you want to use search categories you must:
Select Allow searching using search categories and values in the Stock Control Settings.
If this is not selected, the category values will not be displayed.
Create and maintain a list of search categories and associated values.
If a search category does not have any associated values, the search category will not be displayed.
The search categories and values are linked to product groups, which enable them on stock items.
If a value does not exist it can be created and applied to the stock item as you create the stock item. You can only have one value per search category.
Open: Stock Control > Stock Maintenance > Product Groups.
Click Add.
The Add New Product Group window appears.
To add a new Search Value for a category here, click Add.
Note: The product group details must be saved before you can add search values.
To save the product group, click OK.
To continue entering your product group settings, select the Units of Measure tab.
