Change an accounting period date
You can enter a new End Date for the period. The start date of a period is always the day after the end date of the previous period. This makes sure there are no gaps in your accounting periods.
You can change the period end date if:
- The period status is Open and no transactions have been posted into that period from any of the ledgers.
- The period status is Future.
- The new period dates do not overlap with any other period.
- The new period end date is not the same as the end date of another period.
Outcomes
- The period end date is changed.
- The amendment is recorded in the period control history.
Before you begin
- You must have the correct user permissions to change an accounting period date.
To change an accounting period date
Open: Accounting System Manager > Accounting Periods > Maintain Accounting Periods.
- Select the date to be amended.
- Click Change Period Date.
- Enter a new period end date and click OK.
