Archiving stock item history

Note: This option is only available for On Premise deployments.

If you have chosen to keep a history of your stock transactions, your stock item history can become very large. You choose whether or not to keep your stock item history for each product group.

To help you find your transactions and to optimise the processing speed of your Sage 200 system, you can move your stock transactions into an Archive file.

Once archived:

Once you archive your transactions, they cannot be moved back to the current file. We recommend that you make a back up of the database before archiving your stock item history.

If required, you can permanently delete archived transactions can then be from your Sage 200 database.

To archive stock history

Open: Stock Control > Utilities > File Maintenance > Archive Stock Item History.

  1. Select the range of items to be moved to archive using the Archive transactions for options.
  2. Specify the age range of the transactions to be moved to archive in the Archive all transactions with a date up to box.
  3. Click Archive. A message is displayed when the archiving is complete.
