Create a project from a sales order

You can create a new project based on a sales order you have generated in the Sales Order Processing module.

To create a project from a sales order

Open: Project Accounting > Projects > Create Project from Sales Order.

  1. Display sales orders by:
    1. Clicking Show All Orders to display a full list of sales orders.
    2. Selecting the sales order from the Order no list.
    3. Entering the customer's reference in the Customer order number.
    4. Entering the Order document date to display orders for a particular day.
    5. Selecting the invoice related to the order from the Invoice list.
    6. Selecting the related customer account by the account reference (A/C Ref), short name or postcode of the account holder.
  2. Select a sales order from the list and enter the project details:
    1. Enter the project code (if you manually enter project codes).
    2. Enter the name of the project in the Project Title box.
    3. Select the template to use for the project.
    4. Select the Project Item to be used as the default item for the project revenues.
  3. To generate the project, click Create project.

    The project record will be created.

  4. To enter or change the project's details or structure, choose Projects > Amend Project.
