You cannot add information to an existing account apart from previously mentioned budget values, for example, you cannot add the account name to an existing account.
When you start to import the data, you can specify certain defaults for nominal accounts. They are:
This automatically applies the default values to the nominal accounts for you. This can save time when preparing the import file.
You can import the current year's monthly budgets for existing nominal accounts. Annual, group and budgets older than the previous year cannot be imported.
You can also import budgets for up to five future years although you can only import the budget profile for the current year.
You can add new transactions but you cannot add information to existing transactions.
To ensure that you import transactions that balance, you must select the Transaction must balance setting.
A report is generated, listing the records which imported successfully during import and those which failed. Use the report to identify problems.
To import using Import Ledger File, you must:
Open: Nominal Ledger >Utilities > Import > Import Ledger File.
Enter a value in the Keep transactions for box, if applicable.
