Transaction analysis codes

You must:

• Enable the Allow additional transaction analysis option in the system Settings.

Open: Accounting System Manager > Settings > System Settings | Transaction settings.

• If you intend to delete a transaction analysis code, print the List of Accounts report in the sales and purchase ledgers, to identify any accounts that use the analysis code.

Open: Accounting System Manager > Settings > Transaction Analysis Codes.

1. If you are adding a code, select a blank line or click Add.

2. Enter a shorthand analysis code to help you to quickly choose analysis codes from drop-down lists in the Ledgers later.
3. Enter text to help identify the type of analysis in the Description box.

4. Select the Active check box to enable the analysis code to be used in the system.

   Note: If the check box is clear, the analysis code is not available for selection in the system. If the code has already been used and you subsequently clear the check box, the code will still be in use where you have applied it, but it will no longer be available for future use.

5. To save the analysis codes, click OK.

Open: Accounting System Manager > Settings > Transaction Analysis Codes.

1. Select the code you want to amend.

Note: You cannot amend the shorthand code on a transaction analysis code as it may be associated with records in the accounting system, but you can amend the analysis code description.

2. Enter text to help identify the type of analysis in the Description box.

3. Select the Active check box to enable the analysis code to be used in the system.

   Note: If the check box is clear, the analysis code is not available for selection in the system. If the code has already been used and you subsequently clear the check box, the code will still be in use where you have applied it, but it will no longer be available for future use.

4. To save the analysis codes, click OK.

Open: Accounting System Manager > Settings > Transaction Analysis Codes.

1. Select the code you want to delete and click Delete.
2. To save the analysis codes, click OK.

Open: Accounting System Manager > Settings > Transaction Analysis Codes.

• To print the codes, click Print.
