Setting up the nominal link

To set up the nominal link

  1. Company > Nominal Settings.
  2. From the Accounts software or File drop-down > choose the option you want to link to when posting your payroll costs.
  3. Use the information below to help you set up the relevant option.

Sage 50 Accounts of Instant AccountsOpen this section

  1. To select the Path to Company File > Browse > locate your Sage Accounts company file > Open.

    If you are using Sage 50 Accounts 2008 - 2014, the company file is held in the following location:

    • Windows 8, 7 or Vista - C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\20xx
    • Windows XP or 2000 - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sage\Accounts\20xx

    Note: 20xx refers the version Sage 50 Accounts you are using. For example, 2014.

    For further help, please refer to your Sage Accounts documentation.

  2. If you have a multi-company version of Sage 50 Accounts, from the Company drop-down > choose the relevant company.
  3. If your company is a registered charity, select the Map Cost Centres to Funds check box (Sage 50 Accounts only). This replaces the Acc C/C column titles on the P&L and BS Analysis tabs with Acc Funds.
  4. If you want to use the standard nominal codes for your postings, click Default Nominal Codes.

    Tip: For further help, click the help button provided.

Sage 200 AccountsOpen this section

Select this option to link directly to your Sage 200 Accounts data.

Note: There's no need to browse for the data file.

TAS BOOKS v8 or below and TASBooks v1 and aboveOpen this section

To check your version:

To locate your TAS accounts company file:

  1. To select Path to Company File > Browse > locate your TAS accounts company file > Open.

    The default location of your company file is:

    • For TASBOOKS v8 or below, the default location of your company file is C:\TAS BOOKS\Data1
    • For TASBooks v1 and above, the default location of your company file is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\TAS\TASBooks\
