Options

The Options menu give you the flexibility to customise the look of your software to suit you and your business. You can use options to change colours, which windows ope on starting the software and much more. These settings are user specific, so each user can customise their view.

You can access this from Tools > Options.

Style

Show Text labels

Select this check box to show text for each option on the toolbars.

Hide wizard Options

Select this check box to hide wizards for new records. They can still be accessed from Modules > Wizards.

Configurable Columns

Allow columns to be hidden and resized:

Select this option so you can resize, hide and display additional data columns in many areas of the software. This option is selected by default.

Use Manager account settings for column display:

Select this option so your columns appear to be the same as those set up by the Manager user name. This option may be useful to maintain consistency between users.

Use default settings for column display

Select this option to turn off the configurable columns so you cannot hide or display additional data columns. You can still resize columns while you are in an option, but they return to their default sizes, when you close the window. If you select this option, all columns within every option return to the default settings and all hidden columns reappear.

Options

F11

By default this is set to run CONTROL.EXE. This opens the Windows Control Panel to change your Windows settings, such as date and time, printer fonts, colours and so on.

You can change this to open any software, enter the name of the software's executable file in the box.

F12

Controls what appears when you press F12 on your keyboard. By default, this is set to Sage Report Designer.

Configure F12 as Hide Key

If you select this check box, when you can press F12 your Sage software minimises.

This setting overrides any setting for the F12 key above.

Desktop

Initial view

Use the drop-down list to choose an area of the software you want to appear each time you open the software.

Default View

Modules

Choose how you want each module to appear when you open it. You can choose from one of the following:

  • List - Shows a list of all records
  • Process map - Shows a process map to guide you through the module
  • Dashboard - Shows a one screen summary of the module activity and totals.

Global Settings

Turn off all dashboards

Use this option to turn off all dashboards. If you do this, you can't choose a dashboard view for any of the Default View options.

Turn off all process maps Use this option to turn off all process maps. If you select this, you can't choose a process map for any of the Default View options.

Don't display the Welcome page

Select this so that the Welcome page does not appear when you open your software.
