Reindex

Note: Before you reindex your data files, you should take a backup.

Each data file has a matching index file which tells the software what order the data should be in. Sometimes these files don't match up and the order of your data may appear incorrectly. The Reindex option creates a new index file based on what is in the data file for the area you choose to reindex.

You may also need to reindex your data as part of fixing any errors in the data. Find out more


  1. File > Maintenance >  Reindex.
  2. From the list provided, select the indexes that you want to recreate.
  3. To re-index all of your data files, click Select All.
  4. Click OK > Yes.
  5. To compress your data > Compress Now > Compress > OK > Close. Find out more

    If you do not want to compress your data > Close > Close.
