Compress Data Files

Note: Before you compress your data files, you should always take a backup.

Sometimes your data files are not the correct size and may cause your data may appear incorrectly. The Compress option ensures the data files are the correct sizes with no blank spaces. When you delete data in your Accounts software this does not delete the space in the data files,you should use the compress option on the relevant module to resolve this.

You may also need to compress your data as part of fixing any errors in the data. Find out more

To compress the data

1. File > Maintenance > Compress Data.
2. If you want to compress all > Compress.
   
   To compress certain modules > clear Compress All Data Files > clear the required options > Compress.
3. OK > Close > Close.
