Herb 50 Payroll example: Coded variables

Coded variables use a value that has been set in your Herb software. For example, some coded variables indicate a status.

Variable

Description

AbsenceHistory.HalfDayType

This variable returns 0 if the absence is for a full day, 1 for the morning (AM), or 2 for the afternoon (PM).

Employees.PayStatus
This variable returns 0 if the pay status is OK, 1 if it is on hold, or 2 if there is a trade dispute.

Note: You can choose whether to display the coded (readable) variable or the value in your report. To do this, select the variable, then from the Properties pane, click the Display Named Values drop-down list and select Readable Value or Raw Value.
