Locations (stock record)

To use multiple locations you must have:

• Selected Display multiple locations in the Stock settings.
• Created your warehouses.

You can change the re-order, minimum and maximum warehouse stocking levels. The re-order levels are used when you generate purchase orders.

1. Select the stock item.
2. Select the warehouse Name.
3. Click Edit in the Warehouses section. The Edit Warehouse for item window is displayed.
4. Enter the stock levels for the item at that warehouse; Re-order, Minimum and Maximum.
5. Click OK.

You can change the name of a bin provided the new name is unique.

1. Select the Stock item.
2. Select the warehouse the bin is specified in.
3. Select the bin you want to amend.
4. Click Edit in the Bins at WAREHOUSE section. The Edit Location for item window appears.
5. Change the Bin name.

6. Change the Allocation Priority, (multiple locations only).

   If this stock item is stored in more than one bin in this warehouse, you can choose how the stock is allocated. This is set in the stock fulfilment methods.

   The default fulfilment method is in order of bin priority (from 1 to 9). If required, set priority for this bin here.

7. Click OK. The window closes and you return to the Stock Item Location window.

1. Select the stock item.

2. Click Add in the Warehouses section.

   The Add Warehouse for item window is displayed.

3. Select the Warehouse used to store the stock item.
4. Enter the stock levels for the item at that warehouse; Re-order, Minimum and Maximum.
5. If the stock item is a Built item, select the Default works order warehouse check box to specify that this is the default works order warehouse for the item.

Note: This check box is not visible for non-built items.

6. Click OK to save the information. The window closes and you return to the Stock Item Location window.

You can remove a warehouse linked to a stock item provided the stock item has a zero balance, no allocations or outstanding orders.

1. Select the stock item.
2. Click Remove in the Warehouses section.

All warehouses, including the default Home warehouse, have a default bin called Unspecified.

You can rename this bin to make it more meaningful to your company. You can also delete this bin, as long as there is at least one bin recorded for each warehouse.

1. Select the stock item.
2. Select the warehouse in which the stock item is stored.
3. Click Add in the Bins at WAREHOUSE section. The Add New Location for item window appears.
4. Enter the Bin name.

5. Enter the Allocation Priority from the drop-down list.

   If this stock item is stored in more than one bin in this warehouse, the stock is allocated in order of bin priority (from 1 to 9).

6. Click OK. The window closes and you return to the Stock Item Location window.

You can delete a bin provided the stock item linked to the bin has a zero balance, no outstanding allocations and no outstanding orders.

Bins can be deleted on an individual basis or you can delete all bins in a warehouse.

Note: There must always be at least one bin associated with each warehouse. You cannot delete the last bin.

1. Select the Stock item.
2. Select the warehouse that holds the bin or bins.
3. To delete all bins linked to the stock item in the selected warehouse, click Remove in the Warehouses section.

Note: This action also removes the link between the warehouse and the stock item; it does not delete the warehouse.

4. To delete a single bin, select the bin from those displayed then click Remove in the Bin at WAREHOUSE section.
