Smart links

There are often times as you use your software where you require additional information about an account or transaction.

For example, when you enter an invoice, you may want to check the customer's activity option for details of their invoices and the payments they have made.

The Smart Links feature allows you to move from the window you are using, to a window with associated data, at the click of a button. This makes account information more accessible as you work.

The Smart Link buttons appear on many software windows, allowing you to move directly to another window, or to drill down on a transaction to see more detail.

You can use Smart Links in two ways:

Smart links appear in many places throughout your software. Click this button to view more details about the box, to which it is adjacent.

For example, if you click Smart Link next to the A/C box in an invoice you are creating, the customer record for that account opens.

If you click the Smart Link button next to the Price List box in a customer record, the Price List window for that customer account opens.

Double-click

You can double-click a transaction on a customer, supplier or nominal activity window to drill-down into it.

  • If you double-click a transaction for which the corresponding order, invoice or credit note no longer exists, or a transaction created using a batch data entry window, a warning message appears.
  • In a tree view window, if you double-click the first column of data, usually showing a '+' or '-' symbol the transaction expands or collapses, but you do not drill into the transaction.

To use smart links in a tree view window, double-click the transaction in another column.
