Demonstration data (Demo Data) is great for getting to grips with Sage Accounts before you move on to real data because any mistakes you make don't affect your live company. Unlike Practice Data, the Demo Data company is full of existing information so you can see how your processing would affect a well established company.
When you open your software, you have a choice of companies. One of the choices is Demo Data, which you can use to open a fictitious company so you can practice using Sage.
To access Demo Data, when you open the software, double-click it from the Select Company window. Alternatively, browse to File > Open > Open Demo Data.
Tip: If your software prompts you to log in, enter the logon manager > OK.
Note: While in Demo Data, the Backup and Restore commands are not available from the File menu and Transaction Email is not available from the Tools menu. All details in the data are fictitious. Any similarities with real names, addresses or other company details, past or present is coincidental.
Once you gain confidence in a particular feature of the software, to use it on your live company data:
