Returns

Accounts Plus and Accounts Professional only

Use the Returns option to record damaged or faulty goods that have been returned to your company or that you are returning to your supplier.

There are three transaction types created in the stock activity:

DI - Damages In – These are goods which are returned to your company as damaged or faulty. Because the goods are faulty or damaged, the Qty in stock, sales value or sales qty figures are not updated when you post stock returns. This is because you would not record these in your stock levels to sell to another customer.

DO - Damages Out – These are goods which are returned to your supplier for repair or replacement. Because the goods are being returned for repair or replacement, the Qty in stock, sales value or sales qty figures are not updated when you post stock returns as you are expecting the repaired goods to be returned from the supplier.

WO - Write Off – This is for goods you want to write off. This reduces the quantity in stock. It is the equivalent of an adjustment out.
