Rebuild

Note: Use the Rebuild option with extreme caution as this permanently removes your data. Before you rebuild your data files, you should always take a backup.

If you've been using a company to practice with Sage Accounts or you want to start your company from scratch or even start a new company and keep some of the data you've entered you can use the Rebuild option to remove data from any of the modules.

You can create new data files for all, or selected, parts of your software. For example, You may want to rebuild your audit trail but leave the accounts untouched because of data corruption.

  1. File > Maintenance > Rebuild.
  2. In the Files to keep section, clear any of the check boxes on the data files you want to remove.

Note: If you clear Keep my Customer records or Keep my Supplier records, both Keep my Transactions and Keep my Project Transactionsautomatically clears. If you clear Keep my Nominal Account records, this automatically clears Keep my Transactions and Keep my Project Transactions, and Keep my Chart Of Accounts. If you clear Keep my Project Records, this clears both Keep my Project Transactions and Keep my Transactions. If you clear Keep my Stock records this clears Keep my Stock Transactions.

  3. If required, select the relevant nominal account structure > click OK.
