Restore

Occasionally you may need to quickly restore your data to an earlier point, for example if you want to look at data from a previous year or another company. You may also want to restore have sent data to your accountant.

If you have data corruption or you install the software on a new computer you can use this option to restore a backup of your data.

Note: When you restore data it overwrites the current company data, therefore you should ensure that you back up your current data before you restore.


To restore your data

  1. File >  Restore.

  2. Complete the Restore window as follows:

    Restore Company
    File

    To locate the backup you want to use > Browse > select the required file > OK.

    Note: If the file you want to restore is on a removable storage device such as a USB memory stick, please make sure that the device is attached to your PC before you click Browse.

    Description of Data to be restored

    The company name and the file types in the backup you are restoring.

    Backup Details

    The company name and data version of the backup you are restoring.

    Your backup will be restored to

    The company name and location you are restoring into.

    Previous Backups

    A list of the backups you've previously taken, this may help you to locate your backups.

    Tip: To remove entries from this list, select the required line > Delete.

  3. OK > Yes > OK.
